In the King of the Woods, you are an animal! But not just any animal: one who competes to rule the woods. Join a not-so friendly contest to determine who is the strongest, the smartest, the fairest, and the most influential animal.
Your vassals will help you in your quest to gain influence using their abilities to work in your favor or to destabilize your opponents’ court. So how does it work? How do you gain that most coveted influence?
At the start of the game, you are dealt a random hand of different types of vassals, and you must make the best of it. There are 11 different vassals, each with unique influence points and abilities. You can play one card per turn. If you play the card into your own court, gain its influence value, and, for some, their ability. If you play the card into the court of an opponent, they gain its influence, but you benefit from its unique scheming ability.

The King of the Woods: De Harigste Heerser
In The King of the Woods ben je een dier! Maar niet zomaar een dier: een dat strijdt om de heerschappij over het bos. Doe mee aan een niet zo vriendelijke wedstrijd om te bepalen wie het sterkste, het slimste, het mooiste en het meest invloedrijke dier is.
Jouw vazallen helpen je bij je zoektocht naar invloed door hun vaardigheden in jouw voordeel te laten werken of het hof van je tegenstanders te destabiliseren. Maar hoe werkt het? Hoe bemachtig je die felbegeerde invloed?
Aan het begin van het spel krijg je een willekeurige hand met verschillende soorten vazallen, en je moet er het beste van maken. Er zijn 11 verschillende vazallen, elk met unieke invloedspunten en vaardigheden. Je mag één kaart per beurt spelen. Als je de kaart in je eigen hof speelt, krijg je de invloedswaarde en, van sommige, hun vaardigheid. Als je de kaart in het hof van een tegenstander speelt, krijgen zij die invloed, maar jij profiteert van hun unieke sluwe vaardigheid.
