Schotten Totten is a quirky clever tug-of-war game for 2 players. Send your warriors and fight for control of the frontier that separates you from your opponent. You can put down a maximum of 3 cards in front of each stone and whoever has the highest-ranking combination of cards wins the stone.
And that is where it gets tricky. The 9 possible combinations are poker style so bluff and finesse are mandatory to deceive your opponent and manage your hand with skill.
Each round is set in the same way. Place one of your cards in front of a stone- but choose wisely as it cannot be moved afterwards. Once you are happy with where your card is, draw a new card.
When both players have placed three cards in front of the same stone, they compare the combinations formed by the cards on either side. The strongest combination wins the stone tile. The first player to control three adjacent or five scattered stones wins the game.
You want more of a challenge? Play with the “tactics” cards allowing you to perform special actions such as discarding opponent's cards or changing a card value.

SCHOTTEN TOTTEN: kill or be kilt
Schotten Totten is een eigenzinnig, slim touwtrekspel voor 2 spelers. Stuur je krijgers eropuit en vecht om de controle over de grens die jou van je tegenstander scheidt. Je mag maximaal 3 kaarten voor elke grenssteen leggen en de clan met de hoogste kaartcombinatie wint de steen.
En daar wordt het lastig. De 9 mogelijke combinaties zijn pokerstijl, dus bluffen en finesse zijn essentieel om je tegenstander te misleiden en je hand vakkundig te beheersen.
Elke ronde verloopt op dezelfde manier. Leg een van je kaarten voor een grenssteen, maar kies verstandig, want deze kaart kan daarna niet meer worden verplaatst. Zodra je tevreden bent met de plek waar je kaart ligt, trek je een nieuwe kaart.
Wanneer beide spelers drie kaarten voor dezelfde grenssteen hebben gelegd, vergelijken ze de combinaties van de kaarten aan beide kanten. De sterkste combinatie/ clan wint de grenssteen. De eerste speler die drie aangrenzende of vijf verspreide stenen beheerst, wint het spel.
Wil je meer uitdaging? Speel dan met de "tactiek"-kaarten waarmee je speciale acties kunt uitvoeren, zoals kaarten van de tegenstander afleggen of de waarde van een kaart veranderen.
