At the moment a player always gets the same character based on his preferred player color. Since that character always has the same preferred tool, the player has to choose the same expeditions /discoveries to get the additional point for his tool when scoring.
Allow players to choose their character/color in game and don't assign the same character to a player automatically.
Different charcters will allow a variable strategy during play -
