The BGA Studio Guidelines (en.doc.boardgamearena.com/BGA_Studio_Guidelines) state that an adaptation of a game must abide by the following:
- Fidelity to the original game is an absolute requirement.
- Don't try to create a video game: make your game interface as close as possible to how the original board game looks like.
- Don't hide game elements behind menus, submenus, dialogs, etc, but display them directly on the main page.
- Every information visible by players in the real game should be accessible in the adaptation.• Leg uit wat je wilde doen, wat je deed en wat er gebeurde
I should be able to view the ability cards of my teammate and a hover text on their dice is not sufficient. On mobile, it is not intuitive or made known that selecting the teammate's rolled dice faces will show their abilities they must choose from.• Welke browser gebruik je?

On mobile, it is not intuitive or made known that selecting the teammate's rolled dice faces will show their abilities they must choose from.• Wat gebeurde er toen je dit probeerde te doen (foutboodschap, melding op de statusbalk van het spel, ...)?
Again, on mobile there is no clear indication that selecting the dice face of a teammate will display their available actions. This is not a sufficient way to present the information that would be available to all players in the physical table top version of the game.• Welke browser gebruik je?

Another option would utilize the same action that the "Toggle Guards" button in a two-player game currently uses. Perhaps it could be implemented as a "Toggle Teammate Cards" button, or possibly a toggle button for each player.
The final option is to have the other player ability cards below my ability cards available for view by scrolling.
Further, BGA adaptations require publisher approval before it can be released. The publisher has made it clear that the other players' cards should not be visible.
I am currently working on clearer messages for the commander's actions. Each issue should be listed as a separate bug report in future.
Consider an asynchronous game. I ask in chat what my teammate's card does. But it's my turn, and they get no notification of it. They don't answer because they don't realize there is anything needed of them. Play stalls out.
I come back to a game where my teammate played their turn. I look in the game log to see what happened. The game log tells me the flavor text name of what my teammate did. Since I can't see the card, I have to hunt the log for what they actually did because I can't remember what the "Feint" action means.
It's all well and good for a designer to want to make a game that fosters this beautiful display of camaraderie and unbreakable, lifelong relationships. But crippling the gameplay experience in this way in the name of bonding and teamwork makes for a weaker overall experience and limits the appeal to a wider audience.
And the argument that we want to avoid having one player tell everyone what to do is invalid; alphagaming is a player problem, not a design problem.
Perhaps the fear of quarterbacking or alphagaming is because you know someone very well with a strong desire to not take input from others and command control?
