Indeed you should have been able to end the game. You weren't because there was no object to buy and the game skipped the object buying phase in which you should have been asked the game ending question.
This is now fixed, thanks for the report!

Actually no, this is something else.
Did you get the message during any other game? If not, the problem could come from your navigator, because with Firefox or Chrome, the message does appear.

I had the same problem in a recent game. The end game conditions were: score 4 times, 8 objects, 4 land buildings. After scoring for the fourth time, I had 9 objects and 5 or 6 land buildings, but I didn't get the offer to declare the game end.
Some more information, which may or may not be important:
- I coudn't buy an object, because I had only 2 coins
- I had only land buildings, no city buildings
- all the objects were of the types you get for land buildings
- I had scored two cities(lucca and lerici I think) and two building types
- the next turn I scored the land-building category, but I was still unable to declare the game end
- My browser is Chromium 41.0.2272.76 on Lubuntu 14.10 (64-bit)
- I used a very slow internet connection, about 7 KB/s
- afterwards I tried to reload the page, but after it was fully loaded the game was aborted(maybe because I was over the time limit)

I must correct my previous post: I built and scored in Massa not Lerici, that's why I didn't have coins.

The Bug happend again in another game: en.boardgamearena.com/archive/replay/150416-1712/?table=13643922&player=6066423&comments=
The objectives were: 30 coins, 2x3 different objects and 6 city buildings
In my penultimate turn I had 40 coins, 5 gates and one of each of the other objects and 6 city buildings, but the game didn't offer me the choice to announce the end of the game. In the next turn I scored the city buildings and bought an object and afterwards I got the popup asking me if I want to announce the end of the game.

boloni I appreciate the details, but if you don't tell me in which game something didn't happen, how am I supposed to find out where it came from? I did check your last 6 games and in none were 8 objects needed to end the game.

Ok boloni I see the table you played at. Everything looks normal, you should have been asked, just like s00p016.

Did you guys let the countdown of the object buying phase drop down to zero when you could end the game?
If you did, the game was programmed not to ask whether to end the game and this is not a bug but poor design from me (I just fixed it: there is no countdown anymore when you can end the game).

Perhaps that was the case. In n°13600486 I was able to declare end of game the turn after move #147 which I bought an object and stop the count down. In the later games I was also able to declare end of game when I stopped the count down by myself.

The game with the 8 objects was aborted, so I think it's not possible to see the replay, sorry.
But the countdown sounds like a good explanation. I probably didn't try to click "end turn", because I expected that clicking on this would end the turn immediately. Was it supposed to ask me after clicking on "end turn"?

Indeed you get asked the question after you end your turn, which is counter intuitive...
Now that the countdown is removed, you will have to go through the question so even if it's not perfect, you won't miss it.

Yes, it is *extremely* counterintuitive that you have to end your turn before getting asked whether you wish to end the game. Supposedly by ending your turn you give up the right to end the game, so I just wasted around two hours looking through every nook and cranny in the game interface, rules, and forums to find where/how on earth I was supposed to be able to end the game, since I did *not* want to end my turn without exercising the right to end the game..

There should be a clickable element/button for ending the game, as there is on Yucata. This button should get activated when you have fulfilled your objectives.
